Block reward, next 36 months

How the schedule works

Kaspa issues new coins to miners on a smooth curve called the chromatic phase. Instead of Bitcoin-style halvings every four years, the reward falls a little every month:

Next 12 reductions

Approx. date (UTC)Reward per blockKAS per dayKAS per month

Dates after the next reduction are projected at 30.44-day intervals and may drift by hours. The 4 November 2026 step (to 1.9445 KAS, about 13:45 UTC) is from Coinranking. Live values from api.kaspa.org.

Frequently asked questions

Does Kaspa have a halving?

Not a single halving day. Kaspa's block reward drops by a factor of (1/2)^(1/12), about 5.6%, every month. Twelve monthly steps add up to a halving every year.

What is Kaspa's maximum supply?

About 28.7 billion KAS. Most of it has already been mined, so new issuance is now a small and shrinking share of the total.

Why is it called the chromatic phase?

The monthly reductions follow the same ratio as the twelve notes of the musical chromatic scale, where each semitone step multiplies frequency by the twelfth root of two. Kaspa's upgrade names, like Crescendo and Toccata, continue the musical theme.

Did 10 BPS change the emission?

No. When Crescendo raised the block rate to 10 per second, the reward per block was divided by ten so the KAS issued per second stayed on the original schedule.
